About this pattern
I've always wanted to make a real temperature quilt, but a stitched one fits so much better into my evenings. So here it is: every day of 2027 is one little 3 x 3 patch, set in a calendar block for each month, with a white lattice between the patches and a red checkerboard binding all around.
Each evening (or each Sunday, no judging), you look up the day's high, find its band on the color key and stitch that patch. By December you have a whole year of weather in one sweet little quilt.
2027 starts on a Friday, and the months are laid out Sunday to Saturday, so it reads like a wall calendar. You get a filled-in example year (that's the one in the photos) and a blank chart for your own year.
The temperature key has 12 bands in both °F and °C with suggested DMC colors, plus a worksheet if your winters or summers are more extreme. There are 12 printable log sheets and a little guide with weather app tips.
The finished piece is 113 x 165 stitches, about 8 x 11.8 inches on 14 count Aida. It's beginner friendly: just whole stitches and lots of satisfying little squares. It would make a lovely New Year's gift for a stitching friend, too.
