My two learned to stitch at the kitchen table, so I made these kids cross stitch patterns for exactly that moment. Big, bold shapes, only two to six colors and small stitch counts (the Big Heart is just 20 x 18), so little hands get to a finished piece before they lose interest. Easy cross stitch for kids (and the grown-up helping)
Each design is charted for 11-count aida, Binca or plastic canvas, which have bigger holes and are much kinder for first stitches. The Ladybug and Smiley Sun come with a parent guide, and Rainbow & Cloud is a nice next step once your child is ready for a few color changes.
The large print chart is a real help here: bigger squares and bolder symbols are easier for young eyes to follow. You also get the full-color and black & white charts and a DMC floss key.
If you're stitching together for the first time, my guide to teaching kids to cross stitch has the tips I wish I'd known. Keep sessions short, celebrate every X, and let them pick the colors.

No, these are digital PDF patterns. You download them instantly after checkout. Fabric, thread and hoop are not included, and each pattern lists exactly which DMC colors you need.
Are they suitable for beginners?
Every pattern has an honest difficulty label. Beginner patterns use a small palette, full cross stitches only and very little confetti, so they are lovely first projects.
