I always have a book on the go, so these bookmark cross stitch patterns were a joy to design. Each one is long and slim, about 28 stitches wide and just over 100 tall, so it fits neatly between the pages: a ginger cat asleep on a stack of books, a wildflower meadow, seven moon phases on navy, a teacup steaming little books, and a mushroom forest with a snail.

A cross stitch bookmark for every reader you love

Four of the five designs are beginner friendly, and the Moon Phases Bookmark uses only 4 colors. The Mushroom Forest is the one to pick when you want a bit more detail. Each finishes at roughly 2 x 7.4 inches on 14-count aida.

A stitched cross stitch bookmark is a lovely quick gift for teachers, book clubs and the bookish cross stitch friend who has everything. Not sure how to back it? My guide on how to make a cross stitch bookmark walks through felt, fabric and tassel finishes.

Every pattern comes with full-color, black & white, large print and Pattern Keeper PDFs, plus a DMC floss key.

Good to know

Are these patterns a physical kit?

No, these are digital PDF patterns. You download them instantly after checkout. Fabric, thread and hoop are not included, and each pattern lists exactly which DMC colors you need.

Are they suitable for beginners?

Every pattern has an honest difficulty label. Beginner patterns use a small palette, full cross stitches only and very little confetti, so they are lovely first projects.

Can I use Pattern Keeper?

Yes. Every pattern includes a Pattern Keeper friendly PDF along with the full-color and black & white charts.
