Folk cross stitch with simple palettes
Folk patterns look rich but often use very few colors. The JOY sampler and the Merry & Bright band sampler use only four, so you spend your evenings stitching instead of switching thread. All five are intermediate projects, from about 89 x 89 up to 104 x 140 stitches, which works out to roughly 6.5 to 10 inches on 14 count aida. They frame beautifully or make a lovely bell pull or pillow front.
Starting now gives you plenty of time to finish before the holidays, or to make it a slow January project for next year. Are they suitable for beginners?
Every pattern has an honest difficulty label. Beginner patterns use a small palette, full cross stitches only and very little confetti, so they are lovely first projects.
